Frequently Asked Questions

You have questions. We have answers.

I’m a guy, what should I wear?

“No shorts” – Caroline. The Library’s kinda nice so let’s go with formal wear please! We’re not doing black tie, so a nice suit works (but if you can pull off a sick tux, all the power to ya!)

Where can I stay?
How do I get to the The Boston Public Library Courtyard?

Walk, Uber / Lyft, or take the T to the Library! Some GPS’s may take you to the Boylston Street entrance, however please use the entrance around the corner facing Copley Square on Dartmouth Street, click here to find a pin to apx: 231 Dartmouth St, Boston MA 02116. From that entrance, the courtyard is straight ahead to the right, follow the ushers! If taking the the T (subway), transfer to either: the Green line to Copley station or the Orange line / commuter rail to Back Bay station, short walk to the library from there.

What time should I get there?

Arrive no later than 6:45pm for the ceremony, in seats in the courtyard promptly by 7:00pm.

I’m a lady, what should I wear?

Cocktail to semi-formal, think library chic. Dresses or dressy jumpsuits — classy but comfortable, ready to dance amongst the stacks!

Where should I park?

Hotel parking is mostly valet in this area and can be pricey (~$70/night). The library does not have public parking. The best parking prices are usually at the nearby 131 Dartmouth St. Garage if booked on SpotHero in advance (next to Douzo restaurant, not to be confused with 126 Dartmouth right across the street which also decent rates) click here for latest on SpotHero. As such, if staying at a hotel, I’d recommend dropping off your bags then self parking at a garage. The 110 Huntington – Copley Place Garage could be convenient for those staying at Marriott/Westin, if a bit more than 131 Dartmouth. If looking for hourly parking day-of, there are meter spots on the street with free parking on Sundays (watch out for street cleaning overnight on the main streets and for resident only parking on side streets).

I can’t make it unfortunately
